Does anyone know where I can get a new Li-Ion battery for a MZ-E10? Recently bought the player off Ebay but the seller neglected to mention the battery was dead.

I don't have the MZ-E10's service manual to confirm the correct part number for its Li-Ion battery. But you can call Sony DAPC at 1-800-488-SONY (7669) to confirm if one of these following part number is valid:

Part # 175631811 or 175631821 (BATTERY, LITHIUM ION STORAG)

Good luck.

I'd definitely go with that first part number. They both appear to be the same thing, but the first one comes up at ~$38 and the second one at ~$112!

I've seen this with several units from Sony that have an internal Li-Ion cell. For some reason there are always two listings and one is like a third the price of the other. I remember on one unit it was the part that came up as "CAN/US" as being more expensive despite the fact that the parts are going to be identical save for some of the markings/text on the cell casing...

Yes I think the one ending in 21 is for the US. This is the case for the LIP-4WM's also. The normal ones end in 11 or 31 and 21 for the US. Not sure what the difference is.

Hi Guys,

after a little more investigation it turns out that the seller sent the wrong charger - a 4.5v Sony (probably from a PCDP) instead of the required 6v charger - which is why the battery wasn't charging. It is going to be a lot simpler (and cheaper) to get a replacement charger than try to source a proprietary battery for a player long discontinued and then get it fitted.

Thanks for all your help. I like this forum - think I'll stick around for a bit.
