cambridgeman
Can I use my A/C adapter from my MZ-N1 with the NH1? The MZ-N1 is 3V. Edited November 25, 2005 by cambridgeman
greenmachine
It wouldn't work since the NH1 requires a higher voltage (6V).
cambridgeman
I have quite a few A/C adapters I've collected over the years. I even have a Sony one that says 6V • 10W • 800mA. 1. What do I need to know about wattage and amperage when it comes to making a match with the NH1? 2. Do you know barrel size the NH1 takes. (IE. would it be the same size diameter as the one for the N1, or is it of a different kind?)
greenmachine
The wattage/amperage should be at least as high or higher than the NH1's default adapter Maybe someone who owns a NH1 could give details. Be careful with polarity.

The 6v adapter for the NH1 has a larger diameter barrel which doesn't fit these units. Edited November 25, 2005 by Viv

I think your best bet is unless you have a charger from another MD player that uses LIP-4WM batteries is to get a universal 6V adaptor such as the AC-E60A. I employ the AC-E60A with my NH1 and it works just fine.

Does anyone know the specific model number for an NH1 A/C adapter for North America?
Richard
Thank for the advice. I will go into the Sony Store and see if they sell the AC-E60A adapter. Does anyone know the specific model number for an NH1 A/C adapter for North America? The part number for the US version of the NH1 adaptor is 1-478-393-11, model number AC-ES608K. Both this and the AC-E60A can be ordered through Sony Parts in the US, but I don't know if they ship to Canada. Try the Sony Store first though as the AC-E60A has a universal inout so can be used anywhere in the world. They should be able to order it for you if they don't have it in stock.
