Greetings everyone. Sorry if these questions seem silly to you guys

since i'm new here. ok, on to the questions. i own a Hi-MD MZ-M10

minidisc and really loving it since day one i bought it. recently i've

found out whenever i want to transfer 128kbps .oma files (ripped from

cd), SS3.3 keeps wanting to convert the bitrate to something else

namely 48kbps, 64kbps and 256kbps .oma files (i prefer ATRAC3plus over

ATRAC3). does the player itself only support 48, 64 and 256kbps

ATRAC3plus files only?

my next question is: recently, i decided to transfer back my files from

the disc to the pc. these discs are created using MD simple burner.

copied the whole audio cd to the disc. but somehow, SS3.3 keep saying

that the files were created from other pc whereas it's not. how do i

transfer files (that has been recorded using MD simple burner)on the disc to my pc?

my other question is: when is the safest time to eject the disc from

the unit? i mean, whenever i press the stop button, the songs stop

playing and there's still reading on the lcd. is it safe to eject the

disc at that time. or do i have to wait until there's no display on the

lcd to safely eject the disc?

please enlighten me on these. thank you guys for any help given. i'd

really appreciate it

1) Yes, only these bitrates and since Sonicstage 3.3 also 352kbps.

2) They're copy protected. Once they're on the disc, there's no simple way to transfer downloaded files back in their compressed form unless you understand Sony's evil encryption keys. For urgent cases, you may want to consider these less convenient / lossy methods: http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=7070

3) Even after you've pressed the stop button, the disc may continue spinning for a while. Ejecting it while it's spinning doesn't do severe damage, but if you want to be on the safe side, wait until the display shuts off. At this point the disc usually also has come to rest.

Thanks for your reply greenmachine...

Is there any way I can use other bitrates for my MZ-M10 or am I stuck with the 48,64,256? I was thinking of using 96 or 128kbps ATRAC3plus.I noticed that we can actually convert files from 48kbps up to 352kbps ATRAC3plus including the 96 and 128kbps. so what's the point of giving the option to convert to these bitrates when the truth is I can't play it with my MZ-M10? Is there any player that are capable of playing other bitrates other than 48,64 and 256kbps ATRAC3plus?
