All,

This is my attempt to gather up what the "big items" are that everyone wants to see fixed with Connect Player. I may have missed some, but this covers most of what I've seen in various posts. Once there is some reasonable feedback, I'll see if I can forward this on to someone at Sony to look into.

I just ran into my first problem with Connect Player.

I don't think this was mentioned before. When I use IME to change language to type in search box, Connect Player stops responding...

Other than this problem, my Connect Player seems loads fast (about 10sec) and stable.

My initial experience with Connect has not been bad at all. Doesn't take significantly longer to load than iTunes (that I can tell-- both take a number of seconds to load). I do wish I could select a number of tracks and edit the info on those tracks simultaneously (ie assign them all to the same album or genre).

I'd also like to see a category in the Connect Player library for "date added to library" so I know what's been put in there recently (helps in sending stuff over manually to the player). This is a handy way for me to sort music in iTunes.

It's rather simple you see.

Create a stable piece of software that requires as little memory and cpu time as possible. Reason being this allows people will less than adequete pcs to use the program. Even though windows xp is widely used now a days, I am sure support for older windows would be appreciated by others.

finallly, if the program is able to transfer files to the player, import files from the pc, run normally and smoothly on an average pc, start up in less than 10 seconds, and rarely crash, I will be happy. And of course all the same options that are in CP now to work just as smoothly as the transfer mentioned above.

Even though I would support transfer back to the pc, I doubt sony would agree to that, unless it was only to one pc where the original files came from. But then I am sure someone will find a way around that eventually.

Isn't there already a poll that's almost identical? "What should be improved in CONNECT"... or is that "What should be improved in the players themselves" ?

I chose the option to be able to select several tracks for tag editing simultaneosuly.

OK I voted Other and here's my suggestion:

Instead of being able to export music back onto the PC (which would be nice) what I'd like is to be able to play the music back off the player (like with GYM which is a bit patchy for me) because that way I can

1. delete all the music off my pc saving space

2. hook my a3000 up to my laptop when i don't have speakers

Exporting to PC is a great idea I'd definitely like to see, but sometimes I won't have the space on my hdd.

The feature you want is already in there! Go check out the following:

In the player, go to Tools, Preferences, Views, All Tracks, then enable the check mark next to Date Imported.

Close that preferences box and you can now find the date imported on the far right side of the library view. You now have a free feature :ol_huh:

Somehow I thought it might be there ;) My apologies for not having spent enough time with the Connect Player yet. I only tried for a moment to see if I could pull up some new fields in the library-- right clicking up at the field headers didn't allow me to modify the fields like some other programs do. At least it's there-- thanks

Never thought i would say it but i'd be happy if Connect worked the same as SonicStage 3.3

SS 3.3 starts up so much faster its almost embarrassing.

SS 3.3 has progress indicators that actually give you the impression that its actually doing something.......... 'loading page 100%' gets annoying after a while.

SS 3.3 rips quicker.

SS 3.3 transfers faster and refreshes the music player list quicker, even plays a nice tune when its finished a task.

SS 3.3 detects compatible devices quicker.

SS 3.3 doesn't make the floppy drive go nuts.

SS 3.3 has a better looking user interface.

SS 3.3 doesn't tie up ridiculous amount of RAM or processor capacity.

SS 3.3 doesn't spend so much time 'on the internet', thank god for broadband, i dread to think what Connect would be like on dial-up.

Apart from that Connect is pretty good for a Beta program.

Try walking into a Sony retailer and watching the embarrassed look on the salespersons face when you mention the 'C' word, very amusing it is
