3.4 problem- windows media error/OpenMG

Hi

I've just downloaded 3.4 and installed it (thus losing the earlier version, which worked). However when I try to run it it almost immediately tells me

"cannot locate needed files related to windows media - error 0000e22"

I've tried redownloading and reinstalling 3.4 but no luck -

at one point during installation a request came up to insert disc 1 for for a .txt file

running XP (2002) service pack 1

any assistance much appreciated

First Install Windows Xp Service Pack 2 & then instal WMP 10 ..after all this then install Sonic Stage ver3.4 .

If you have MusicMatch Jukebox, uninstall that too. It was giving me problems with SS 3.4 and Simple burner.

I have a similar problem with the MDF 3.4 Installation.

I am Running factory installed Windows 98SE with updates on a Dell Inspiron 3800.

I downloaded SS3.4 from MDF and tried the installation. During the various installs it complained about:-

First time complains of.....

Unable to register 'omgtrans.ax' hresult -2147220472

When I tried to run SS3.4 it complained.....

Cannot locate needed files related to Windows Media Format. Exiting Sonicstage

Error code 00004e22

...and exited.

I tried to run SB 2.0

SB has fatal error. Sugests reboot.

I tried a re-install of the programmes.....

Second time install (no uninstall) no problems.

SB has fatal error. Sugests reboot.

NetMDSB.exe has performed an Illegal operation and will be shut down....

Can you suggest any solutions ??
