Richard
Is it possible, to take the *.oma file and lay on an ordinary MD disc instead as data ?. Also is the new blue Hi-MD discs better than the old black ones ?. As normal MD's in NetMD mode can't be used to hold data, the answer is no. If it was on an old MD formatted as Hi-MD, then yes, but it won't be able to be played back unless it is transferred through SS / Simple Burner. The new Hi-MD 1 GB discs as far as I can tell are just as good as the predecessors, it just depends if you prefer the colour or if you like the older long cases more. MDnewuser
richyhu: Thanks. I thought of using an old MD formatted as Hi-MD. If i want it playable, will i loose audio in the process ? (does Sonicstage have to re-encode), will i be able to transfer from the disc again if i need to ? If you open a Hi-MD formatted disc in explorer you will see that there are a lot less physical files on the disc and that these don't necessarily correspond directly to the .oma files in the SS library. SS does not re-encode the audio but wraps it in a format readable by the hardware hence this is why track's can not be drag n' dropped. Can't you just import the file into SS and transfer it to the disc. MDnewuser
It didnt work, SS 3.2 said it was prohibited . Ashame since 1 GB discs feels safer to have if you dont know exact when something starts or how long it will last. When recording in Hi-SP i think ordinary Hi-MD formatted discs giving 2.20 is just as good. But when a file ends up 249 MB, then its a waste of space.
