whitmaan
I have a Sharp IM-DR410 and i leant to to an old girlfriend just over a year ago. We finally met up the other day, and she gave me back the mini disk saying that it had stopped working. Which i found a bit odd. I've been looking into what was wrong with it, and i can't find out. It records fine through the line In port, works ok doing that, It even plays the mini disks with content already of them, but whenever i try to upload music from the computer, I get this ...It gets the first song to that amount, and just stops dead and then does thisI have tried it with various USB cables, and different mini disks, I even tried it on another computer and my laptop and it did the same with all 3 systems.I guess this is what i get for lending it to a girlfriend, but she said she only used it at home and never took it out of the house.Any idea's how to fix it?I hate joining forums and asking for help right away but its an issue i can't really avoid at the moment wHo
atrain
switch to sonicstage 4.0 free from www.connect.com don't worry about it being sony, it's the same but newer software then intstall the driver for your sharp from here.http://forums.minidisc.org/downloads/files.php?cat=3make sure the md isn't attached to the computer when this is going on. if you have a big library on the pc you may need to back it up btw, see if beatjam has a backup built in.advantages of ss4.0, no check in/out anymore!, faster encoding etc.
whitmaan
Is it not a hardware issue i can solve, as i was kind of wanting to sell this on again as i have a newer mini disk?
bland10000
Actually, if you plan to use Sonicstage, the installation is the other way around. Have BJ, or at least the drivers loaded, then add SS. If you do SS first then BJ, you are likely to encounter freezes of the software. To minimize what all gets loaded, take off BJ. Restart your computer and plug the USB cord into the unit. You will get prompted for drivers, let them load, then load SS on top.I've tried it the other way around with no success then found the loading instructions here in the section labeled software installation from a post by Sefu. whitmaan
Followed all the instructions, and it still won't transer for the mini disk, i was presented with this at the end of tryin to convert. It got the first file to 20% and stopped again.
bland10000
I've tried to duplicate the error but can't get it to happen.
