mnmleung
G'dayI have been meaning to organise my 350+ MDs (bits of radio programmes, music lessons, rehearsals, practice etc). More than half of these are numbered ... a short note for each is kept on a spreadsheet.I laid the minidiscs on the bedroom floor (I have those TDK blue stands that holds 8 MDs).Whoops my sister thought from a distance that I bought a train set ... my wife kept tripping over them and was not impressed. Luckily the vacuum cleaner does not have a large enough mouth to swallow my precious MDs.How do you organise your MDs and keep them out of harm's way? A lot of them (about 300) were from pre-HiMD times and they will stay in MDs. HiMD is kind of a half way house for me nowadays - they get transferred to my hard drive.Appreciate any ideas. Thank you! from Ming in sunny Brisbane
Fat Tires
I keep all my unused blanks in a drawer and all my used discs in MD booklet cases that hold 48 discs each. Here's a link to one of the ones that I use. LINK
jaylen
Wow, that is a LOT of MDs. LOL train set. Maybe in addition to Nismo's suggestion, you could also invest in some sort of MD storage tower or stackable unit system? There are a few e-tailers who have them:MinidiscAccess storageAudiocubes storage ideas (They've got some pretty nice looking ones. And, ones that you might even be able to build yourself, if you're a decent handyman.)I use these mini-shelves for my MDs at home and a 12-sleeve (MDLP) or 6-sleeve (Hi-MD) case for away.Good luck! mnmleung
thanks, Nismo and Jayle. Yes, 300+ is quite a number. My sister (who mistook my lined-up MDs for a train set) gave us an MZ-R700 on our wedding day so most of the service was recorded. It just went from there: choir rehearsals, singing lessons, piano lessons, etc. I am sure there are better ways to record off FM radio directly onto hard drive than wearing out my MD recorder but haven't looked into it. But it is the MZ-RH1 I should be saving up for, and back up all my older MDs onto a hard drive... Ming

What is DRM and are we talking about removing DRM on HDD or MD? Thanks from Ming

I would recommed going to a Pier 1 of some type of home decoration store get some decorative Wine boxes or to cheesy storage boxes that look like oversized books, to blend in to the decor. Your disc will fit nice the wife will be happy and you won't be able to remember where you disc are. Edited July 7, 2006 by Hombre
