viiv
Thinking of buying one for a protable play only unit, does anyone know where it is made in? Thanks,
pata2001
I think legacy MD player only units of x20 series and older are made in Japan. Dunno about the x30 series (I think the E730 is still made in Japan, correct me if I'm wrong). As for HiMD, the latest ones (E50, E70) are either made in Malaysia/China. Bland1000 can verify this as he has many player only units.
bland10000
the mz-e630 and e730 are both manufactured in China while the mz-eh50 and eh70 are manufactured in Malaysia.I have a two-year old n920 that is made in Japan but last year Sony announced that the last factory in Japan to manufacture MD was ceasing production. Sony is still producing n920's; I'll have to take a look and see where they are listed as being manufactured.Kenwoods latest releases were marked as made in Japan... viiv
Ooh, I think I found a little trick that will tell you where a unit is made in. However minidisc.org needs to have the manual. Go to the manual section and open up the PDF manual. Wherever it says it's printed, I guess that's where it is Made In. The MZ-E810SP says Printed In Japan. However maybe that's a manual from an older model. Do they ever switch production over to another factory for the same model for MiniDisc players or are indivdual models always made in one factory for the entire production run? bland10000
The e810 is no longer in production so your method should work with this unit.
