johnnyelectron
Okay, throw the tomatoes at me, but why can't I copy my legit MP3 files from my desktop to my new Sony NetMD minidisc recorder? The Sony software tells me to go to he** when I try to load it. I can transfer my Sony Connect purchased music okay, but not my MP3 files. What gives? Is there a 'mod' required, or do I have to transfer the MP3's to WAV files, put them on a CD, then load from the CD? If so, that's too much moneybusiness, and the MiniDisc is a big waste of time. Thanks much!
Richard
Johnny as you probably know your NetMD unit can't play back MP3 files natively and they must be converted to Atrac as part of (or before) the transfer process. If in doubt, i suggest you read over the rules for the software FAQ above (in pink) and do a couple of searches on MP3 transfer with Sonic Stage to NetMD devices. If that still gets you nowhere let us know a few specifics and we'll try to help you out.
The Low Volta
if SS doesn't play nice with the MP3s (it should convert them to atrac on the fly) it could be an issue with the MP3 tags. SS is irritatingly strict with ID3 rules so programs that tag not srictly by these rules (like winamp IIRC) create MP3s that are useless in SS... just use a retagger that follows the rules (like iEatBrainz) and try again (have a go at one problem MP3 first before you retag everything)
