raintheory
I recently got a PM from a member commenting on my avatar photo and wondering what the story was behind it... So I thought I would share some of my abstract photography with the board. I debated using the gallery but decided against it since I would rather have them all in one place together. Keep in mind that these photographs are raw images and have not been edited or manipulated (with the exception of resizing) using any image editing software. Essentially I simply used experimental lighting/focusing/objects/etc. to acheive any and all effects. The objects in these photos are normal everyday objects including marbles, colored glass, frost, and even a cup of coffee exhibiting strange visual behaviour after creamer was added... danielbb90
There really neat, but it would be nice if you labled them
mercury_in_flames
very cool. what camera? Are alot of them ice/water shot with light shining through? How did you do the purple one???
raintheory
Most of them were using my old Nikon F3. Some of them that are newer are using an actual macro lens and our new Olympus E-Volt 500, prior to that I would just hold my wide-angle lens backwards against the camera to get in really close... Had some weird depth-of-field effects doing it that way. There are one or two where I was actually using various glass objects in place of the actual lens as well.If I labelled them I would be lost for words and probably suffice with "Untitled #1", "Untitled #2", etc. The purplish one is actually the inside/underside/up-close of a glass sculpture of Mars.
