I've got a question for anyone who knows about this. I bought the Australian version of the MZ-NHF800, so it only has an AM/FM tuner. If I get a different version of the remote (the US version), would the tuner pick up AM/FM/TV/Weather Band signals? I probably wouldn't listen to those much, but it'd be nice to have.

::goes to minidisc.org to do some research::

As Jaylen pointed out through his(?) link, yes it will.

I was in your exact same situation with an AM/FM only tuner remote and an australian version of NHF800.

The radio tuner is inside the remote.

Note that you cannot make a non-radio MD into a radio-enabled one: the connector is shaped differently.

As for the reception quality of TV and Weather, it is reasonable to expect a faint signal.

For me weather channels can only be listened in a quiet area, not outside on a busy city street, even tough I'm only a few miles from a Weather transmitter (in Montreal, Canada).
