i use the rh-10 for almost a year now and the gumstick battery doesnt hold as long as it used to be. i need to charge the battery once a week when i used to need to charge every 3 weeks or so, using it the same time every day. is this normal.

where could i buy a new one for cheap? it seems that there are so many fakes out there

Try discharging it completely before fully recharging from now on. If you're lucky, it just suffers from the memory effect and will recover by itself. If this was your common practice already, the battery propably suffers from age/too many cycles and needs to be replaced.

yes,i've always been recharging only after the battery was empty. however a couple of times i charged it accidentaly for a couple of minutes thru the usb when connected to pc, and it is my impression that this had an effect ever since.dont know.

on ebay it seems there are only fakes. is there another place to buy a genuine one?thanks

GP powerbank sells 1350 (or 1400)mAh gumstick batteries (and an external charger as well) at reasonable costs... look for the charger as it comes with two sticks I believe and charging externally is a good thing as well (numerous instances of battery swelling are known)
