Ishiyoshi
My SQ preference (strictly) on a portable recorder unit:MD --> MZ-R50MDLP --> MZ-R910 or Sharp MD-DR7NetMD --> Sharp IM-DR80 or MZ-N910/N920

greenmachine
SQ is subjective.

9X000
MDLP--MD-DR7, the HONG KONG edition is named DR480H... in China, MZ-R910/909 are not so popular because of the recording problem...
MDX-400
For all of those things on a portable (a unit capable of NetMD) and having the best sound quality, IMO I would say the MZ-N10. Plus the MZ-N10 is a pretty good bargain these days, IMO. Used ones seem to go for less than N707s for some reason, lol. DR80 was good too as it had an Auvi amp IIRC. For headphones use, the DR80 is probably a very good bet. But it's more expensive and harder to find than an N10.
jaylen
I agree with Ishii/MDX. For NetMD, DR80 all the way (and you're right, it has the Auvi amp). I liked it so much that I got 2.
Spare Tire
You should specify that only the RECORDING circuitry be considered in terms of SQ. Because now people start mentionning sharp auvi units because of it's digital amp that has nothing to do with the recording quality. I might as well throw in my DS77 and say the SQ is pretty good, and people would start agreeing even though it's just a player. Now, can some veteran tell us, what is the ultimate in SQ in terms of recording? If you look at the title of the thread, the original poster is requesting recommendations for "Best MD, NETMD, MDLP SQ Recorder." Player-only units, Auvi or not, are out of the question for this particular request.
Spare Tire
Throw, yes, my english not very good sorry (right, give me a break will you). You don't get my point. I know it's a player and i know the thread says recorder but the point is saying a recorder has good SQ when you're just refering to it's playback quality is just like saying it's a good player, hence my comment about why not just say my DS77 sound great. So to factor out the irrelevant variables, i am asking for solely RECORDING sound quality. Makes a lot more sense than asking what recorder has good SQ in general.

Makes a lot more sense than asking what recorder has good SQ in general. The original poster said: "of the 3 i want to record in SP format and listen to prerecorded MD. which is the best SQ ?" (See Post #3.)I understood that as "what unit can record in SP AND sounds good" = a recorder + good sound quality for playback because the original poster wants to listen to pre-recorded MDs. So, sure, I get your point and your comment makes sense, but your question is not really what they're asking. If you want to ask about which unit has the best recording quality specifically, then perhaps you should start a new thread so as not to confuse the issue further.Edit: By the way, I wasn't making fun of your English/typo. Please note that I put a "?" because I wasn't completely sure what you were saying. So, take a few deep breaths and take it easy.
