OS: Windows XP SP2 Home Edition

Software: SonicStage CP 4.0 [uS version]

Player: MZ-N10 (old school one)

It just said that the track failed to transfer or convert. Tracks with English filenames are OK.

Anyone has a clue? Shall I install Asian-Pacific version? I have a collection of Japanese and Chinese music at my machine.

Hi Wendy you should probably start here:

Not forgetting to also do the second registry edit mentioned if you are using a legacy player.

Then as described use Microsoft App-Locale to run Sonic Stage and convert and transfer your tracks to your player.

On my machine, instead of using Applocale, I change the non-unicode character set into Chinese. After I edited the registery table, files can be converted correctly. However, titles and artist names displayed as "???", instead of characters.

Shall I turn off the non-unicode setting and use Applocale instead?

Yes unfortunately you will still need to run Sonic Stage using App-Locale if you are using a non-asian version of Windows, irrespective of the non-unicode settings. This is a limitation of the Sonic Stage software itself. Give that a try and let us know how it goes. ;)

I use the Registry Edit and Applocale for ma Japanese titled track but a problem remain.

Many of my CD are french so characters like é, è, à are present on some track title or even album title.

Since the album title is the name of the directory created by SonicStage, here's my problem while using Applocale (Japanese settings) with SonicStage :

- Track containing accentuated character won't play

- Track inside an accentuated directory won't play

Do you know a way that let me play all my track with Japanese titling without having to switch from SC to SC-JP enabled for my french tracks ?
