logowriter
I'm having a strange problem transferring PCM recorded files to my Mac.I bought an M100 back in March which I loved and had no problems with tranferring files via USB using the provided Wav transfer software (once I figured out my field recordings had to be recorded in Linear PCM mode). I unfortunately had the MD stolen not long after acquiring it. Suffice it to say I was pretty pissed. It took me a while to get around to replacing it but there were some professional necessities at play and I finally did this fall. I was pretty happy to start using the MD again and even still had all the original software installed, so I imagined I'd be able to get started rather quickly.Imagine my surprise when I discovered that files I recorded on Hi-MD disks in Linear PCM would not transfer to my Mac. They appear listed as PCM files, but simply will not transfer. I even upgraded the software but it still doesn't work.I've tried it on a second Mac as well to no avail. Any help is appreciated, I have about ten Hi-MD's worth of important material that are useless to me right now, not to mention I've spent close $1000 by this point.... logowriter
Fair enough, but does anyone have any idea what's going on with it? I'm positive that these settings are correct, and it should work, no?
The Low Volta
what model did you replace it with?
logowriter
what model did you replace it with?Exact same model, the MZ-M100. A new development that's REALLY strange (and leads me to believe it might not be a software problem), is that the discs I recorded with the first MD are recognized and tranferrable via USB when I put them in my new MD. A440
So you can play back the new PCM tracks but not upload them? And the old tracks upload? As you've suggested, that sounds like something is going wrong during recording. This seems to be something you should be hassling Sony about. Let Sony replace your M100 to see if it's a hardware problem.
The Low Volta
have you tried the mac transfer software version 2.0? (you can download it from these forums I believe)... that could help, though it is a long shot. If it doesn't help, you really should get in touch with Sony and hassle them for an RH1
