NW-HD1 firmware revisions

Question

Hello people.

I previously posted a request regarding issues with running MP3fm on a NW-HD1. Thanks Stuge and MDX-400 for your input.

my NW-HD1 has not had the firmwre upgrade but it has been suggested that some of the last off the production line may have had the new Firmaware put on them. As the packaging for the device is long gone can anyone help.

It is currently running ver 1.050. I notice the service manuals posted on this site have a version 1.1.

does anyone know if version 1.050 will play MP3s

has anyone got any info on what version they had before and after upgrade.

Thanks in advance

Happy listening all

Arr but I do. My sonic library / backup has been sent to the other side of the world as I am off travelling for a while. If I load MP3fm and it screws the NW-HD1 database then I am screwed till i get home. Thats why I want to put MP3fm on along side my existing NW-HD1 library so I can add new CDs without my SS library.

Cheers for the reply Mercury_in_fames

I think I have confused you a lot .Firmware upgrade of HD1 let you to put & play mp3 files on hd1.You cannot upgrade firmware by your self .You will need to send your hd1 to service station..Also mp3fm is not going to do anything with your hd1.

Please tell us in which country you live.

You can use Vaio music tranfer(if i`m right )(download it from download section of atraclife)

Looked on Sony's UK site didn't see anything about the upgrade. In fact it specifically shows the HD1 as not capable of playing MP3 files on it's little comparison of the HD1 and HD3 in the support section.

Surely they must have the upgrade though? Contact Sony Service in your area and find out, that's the best way to go about it I think...
