MZ-E10 and RM-MC40ELK compatable?

The topic pretty much sums it up. I think I'm getting an E10 for Christmas this year and just wanted to know if the RM-MC40ELK will work as a 3-line remote with it. Anyone who knows or could check, I'd very much appreciate a response

The 40 will work with legacy units but only as a one-line remote. To take advantage of the three lines requires a hi-md unit.

When you title a legacy disc via SS, SB, or manually with a recorder, you only get to enter one field with information. With hi-md, you can enter three fields of information(artist, song, and album). It is the different fields that the remote displays and since legacy just has one field, it is a one-line display.

The MZ-E10 has a special remote port which doesn't even have a headphone jack, so there is just two remote for this player:

RM-MC33ELU

RM-MC35ELKU

And, to make things even more interesting:

40ELK + E35 (legacy, non-HiMD) = 1-line display + track number

40ELK + N505 (legacy, non-HiMD) = 1-line display + track number

40ELK + NE810 (legacy, non-HiMD) = 2-line display + track number

40ELK + E720 (legacy, non-HiMD) = 2-line display + track number

There could be more, but those are all the non-HiMD units that I've tested with the 40ELK.
