What bitrates will Hi-MD units play?

Hey,

I just spent quite a long time ripping 1 GB worth of CDs on my computer, then when I went to transfer those to a Hi-MD, Sonic Stage converted the bitrate of everything... I checked the options and the "Leave As Is" option was checked, but in "advanced" it said if it was unable to use the first format it would convert to 132 KBS.

I use a Mz-M100, and I ripped everything to 128 KBS Atrac.

The weird thing is, 128 Mp3s work fine....

So why would Sonic Stage let you save in 128 if it won't let you play 128?

Ok, ignore everything I've previously said. IIRC 132kbps is LP2 which means your unit needs to be in MD mode instead of Hi-MD mode. So I guess if you change it to MD mode it should transfer the files with out converting. If I'm still wrong then I don't know what else to say.

I think he said he ripped to Atrac3+ 128k (you were right the first time) -which would explain why they are not transferring. If they were at 132 they could still be transferred to a Hi-MD formatted disc with SS. :) (I think Raintheory was just pointing out your MP3 typo).
