floz23
Should my hi-md transfers, from the disc to the computer, be significantly slower than in the opposite direction, from the computer to the disc?It seems to me that transferring data from the disc to the computer can take almost 10 mins a hi-md disc! Well, maybe not that long, havent been able to time it, but is this normal?I definitely do have usb 2.0.Thanks everyone,-Adam
Sparda
Perhaps it takes longer because you are converting to Atrac?
greenmachine
Just because the unit is marketed as USB 2.0 compatible, it doesn't mean it uses the maximum possible USB 2.0 speed. In fact, it is far from it - around USB 1.1 speed or just slightly above (USB 1.1 = 1/40 the speed of USB 2.0). The 100x transfer speed figure is only true for highly compressed low quality audio (48kbps).
