gregk
This recorder was given to me by my dad, and it partially what got me looking for a better MD device that could support digital transfers to the PC. Hence, I found the RH1 and it is a really good recorder, although I am still learning to use it properly. So I have this older MZ-NF810 Net-MD here and a bunch of new discs for it (which I know also can work with the RH1)...but what should I use it for? I'd like to have a good use for it, but since I only need the RH1...I am at a loss. Is there anyone else that upgraded to Hi-MD and uses the old equipment still? This is not all that important since I don't need this older device to work, just thought I would ask Greg Edited March 19, 2007 by gregk

KJ_Palmer
The NF810 has at least one useful thing the RH1 doesn't have - a radio remote control, and quite a good one at that. I'd keep the NF810 for that reason, and as suggested, as a backup player/recorder, especially if you have a reasonable 'legacy' SP/LP collection that you want to hang on to. Qwakrz
Use it for times when you dont want to risk your RH1I have an RH10 that I will be using when I dont really want to risk damage to my new RH1. I also have an R900 that I would probably not loose to much sleep over if I loose it.

j-dawg
I think your RH1 kind of enhances the usefulness of the NF810 because the RH1 will upload the 810's recordings. So your 810 can be a workhorse player/recorder for high risk situations. Like say, bootlegging a Lamb of God concert from the floor/general admission area. If you get caught in a mosh, you don't have to worry about your #1 machine getting trampled! And if you survive the night, you still get a digital upload.
