I have read the manual and combed Google and now I am asking this forum for a solution. I have a Mandolin Teacher who is a piper and he has a lot of recordings in the old style NON HD recording on of course a NON HD machine by Sony.

Is there software out there that can be bought as it appears Sony will not develop anything that I can load his 74 discs recorded in Non HD format that would allow it downloaded to a PC either thru my MZ RH910 or another device??

This is insane that this cannot be done. My Mandolin teacher and I will be eternally grateful.

Sony RH1 is the only model that will let you do that. And then What we refer to as "Legacy "Discs or the non HiMD will only upload on PC not Mac, the other way to do that is to Download Audacity http://audacity.sourceforge.net and connect the MD unit to the line input of your computer , and record real time into your computer,( Works like a Tape Deck )

If Mr. Mandolin has a lot of discs, it would be worthwhile investing $300 in the MZ-RH1.

The Audacity solution above is realtime and analog, and it requires you to edit all the recordings afterward. It works (assuming your PC has a decent audio input, not always the situation), but it is very time-consuming.
