Hi-MD playable on standard MD equipment?

Well, elsewhere I have mentioned that I recently bought a RH1. Now that I have been seduced by the ease of high speed dubbing from Mac to disc with this unit, I am pondering switching over to Hi Md and re- recording the few MDs I made in the older format. The isssue of course is that the Hi MDs wont play on other three MD players I own so I have been looking at the shelf units available (at least for now) which are nice but another financial dump for another format. Ths would all be void if one of two things were possible:

1. Hi Md played on standard MD players OR

2. Standard MD could be downloaded high speed from Mac

SO does anyone here have any thoughts on either of these two possibilities?

I'm happy with MD sound so I don't need Hi MD for that or for the extra storage. I only need (want) the quick download time to av

oid real time transfers. All thoughts are apppreciated!!

Alas neither of the 2 above options are possible. Pre-HI-MD units will not play Hi-MD discs. Only WAV & MP3 can be downloaded from the MAC to Hi-MD.

Sorry to break the bad news.

Thanks for the news, not bad, just not ideal. On that thought-if I had a net md machine and used a PC, can i do quick downloads to standard MD and, if so, are there any downsides to that. Thanks for your help
