bigjimvt Posted July 2, 2007 Report Share Posted July 2, 2007 i have a MZ-RH910 I've had for 1.5 yrs, use it for recording rock bands, SP BMC 12 mics, batt box, never had any problems until nowbought 10 new sony HiMD (blue) disks tried 7 and only 3 worked2 gave "rec error" at end when saving, 2 seemed to record then gave "read error" during upload to computer, now all say "can't read or record"as a test I recorded on an old disk and it worked finebad disks or is my recorder going bad?Jim Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I've never quite understood what the difference is between regular md discs and the new hi-md formatted ones, but I think the older minidiscs when formatted in atrac3plus might perform better. I haven't had any problems with the 1GB discs, but it definitely has been tempermental with recycled regular discs. (These same discs work fine on my Mz-M100 and RH1.) I finally gave up recording anything but new discs on my RH910. I've come to think that the RH910's recording mechanism isn't as stable as it should be.
