What's up MD world? I hate to admit it, but I didn't know such a lively following of MD still existed. Good stuff. Anyways, first time poster, long time MD user...

My info: MZ-NF610 with a MS-907 mic. My "music" at www.myspace.com/funkfailure

Short question: Is the RH1 as sweet as it sounds and worth the $300? (I think I know the answer to this)

Long question: As many of you know, with my set-up the only way that I can get music MD-PC is via realtime (bad/uneven quality, takes time, sucks, etc). It sounds as though the RH1 fixes all these problems. In fact, by what I've read (didn't even know such a thing existed until a week ago), this freakin' thing is everything we MDers have always wanted. Am I reading this right? Is it worth the money?

Could/would I still use my powered MS907 mic?

Also, with the set up I have (I am kinda ignorant) I have to put the mic really close to the amp and play pretty loud to get a recording of decent volume. Anyone know why? Would the RH1 "solve" this?

Thanks a lot all for any help/advice/etc.

:pleasantry:

Hi Sparty

The beauty of the RH1 as well is that it will be able to digitally upload all your legacy recordings. Take a giant step, and use the source, be at one with the source

You will love this beauty.

Good luck

Bob

Your MZ-NF610 has a line input only which expects strong signals a microphone can only deliver when recording high sound pressure levels. A mic input (built-in preamplifier) will allow you to record quieter sounds at decent levels.

Wow! Thanks for the quick and helpful responses. I pretty much assumed what my answer would be (ie, get the damn thing! its sweet!).

I've seen the RH1 on several sites for around $300. Anyone have a plug for a good site to buy it from?
