I'm looking at my manual and the options on my RH1 & NFH800 and I don't see how I can set the unit to record any MDLP modes on an 80 min disc.

I bought an N1 and I was thinking I'd try it out at work since it's got no AA lump like my NHF 800. the AA lump isn't that big of a deal but I just wanted to try it out. plus the N1 is a nice looking MD unit.

there's NO WAY I'm taking the RH1 to the metal shop with the air filled with magnetic dust (not to mention all manner of other types of dust.)

my NHF800 had a read error the other day, I got a "buissy" message for a while and it just wouldn't read the disc. I looked inside and I think it looked like fine steel dusd had gatherd on the spindle so I blew it out with compressed air and it worked fine again (been fine for over a week now of daily use)

I want a gumstick battery, metal shell player(recording not really nesassary) HiMD unit for work, EH1 I spose that would be, but the right deal hasn't come my way yet.

Hi;

I have this units and booth can record on LP4 ( only when the disc is in MD mode, not HI-MD), if you need to put LP4 tracks on a Hi-MD mode you need Sonicstage to do it....but for me atrac3plus at 48kb sounds much betther than LP4

If there are already Hi-MD format tracks on the disc and you set the recorder to MD mode, you cannot record in any of the MD modes unless you format the disc or use another blank MD. Hi-MD mode and MD mode cannot be mixed on a single disc, the structure is different.
