I have sold my Sony MZ-NHF800 Silver/Blue Hi-MD Walkman unit with bonus accessories and free shipping for the low price of $95.00 USD.

As you see, it is a bit beat up, and has the marks to prove it, and it includes the ever-sought after RM-MC39LT remote, and MDR-NC6 short cord Noise Canceling headphones as well as the included USB cable, and instruction manual on CD-ROM.

This holiday season, give the gift that keeps giving on its own..... MiniDisc and Hi-MD!

Yes I DO take PayPal.

Thanks,

Ray Jackson

Oh yeah, it can. The 5 mW-per-channel amp can defintely drive them (even more with the EQ on), as the NC6's are only 20 ohms with power turned on, and only 40 ohms with the power turned off. This NHF800 has seen a bit of action, and that shows in the inconsistancy in the jog wheel action as well as the slight crack on the front, where it says "TV/Wearther/FM/AM", just above the display, and those are the main reasons for the huge discount on this setup.

Thanks for the question,

Ray Jackson.

Only the RH1/M200 is slightly faster than USB 1.1. All other models are not. But although the speed isn't great, they're at least compatible to USB 2.0 ports.

Ah yeah, see I use the 1GB Hi-MD discs to back up my pictures. I consider it "poor man's magneto-optical." ;) My MZ-NH600D and MZ-NH600 are pretty slow, and show up as a USB 1.1 device. I wasn't sure how newer models worked. I'm rather new to Minidiscs. I always wanted one as a kid but they were way too expensive back then (I also had no idea how they actually worked - I probably wouldn't have liked the pre-Hi-MD models haha). I finally convinced myself to get a cheap MZ-NH600D off Ebay for $60, mainly to check it out, and possibly use it as a cheap way to back up my pictures. When I got a cheap MZ-NH600, I realized how nice these things were for recording audio. I kind of rediscovered their original purpose. ;)

I still might be interested in it just for the mic jack. I could use that. It doesn't have a built-in mic, does it? I don't see that mentioned on http://www.minidisc.org/part_Sony_MZ-NHF800.html - also, what's the "no digital amp" mentioned on that page? Sorry, still a bit new on the Minidisc terms. I've had mine for quite awhile, but they are pretty lacking on the features end of things.

I'd love to have a RH1/M200, but (1) they're too expensive still, and (2) I'm a little concerned about the proprietary battery - especially since Sony seems to be discontinuing their Minidisc line... :( Anyone know what the best AA model is?

Thanks!

Of all the Hi-MD units that take AA batteries, the first generation units seem to have the longest battery life around, as second generation units all came proprietary for rechargeable stick batteries (except for the RH/DH710), and as for the mic jack, yes there is a mic jack included on the NHF800 unit I am currently selling.

If you do still want it, I will be more than glad to send you a PayPal invoice, all you have to do is PM me your e-mail address and I will invoice you through PayPal.

Thanks,

Ray Jackson
