Problem with the MDAC Repair tool

Hi!

I have a corrupt version 4.3 of Sonicstage that always says "Updating Sonicstage Database

Sonicstage will be restarted when updating has completed." and then shut down when you try to run it.

I read in another thread that you were supposed to download the MDAC repai tool from the downloads section.

I followed the link to the macropool page and then downloaded the utility, then I ran it, and it said I have to pay to access it because I don't have any macropool software installed and that it's for macropool users exclusively. What??? Am I supposed to pay to fix something that I already payed for? (I have a walkman MP3) I even have macropool software installed!

I'm sick and tired of never being able to use my MP3 player, so please help me to fix this problem once and for all.

I'm running Microsoft XP Service Pack 2, and I've tried another fix where I re-installed the "C:\WINDOWS\Inf\Mdac.inf" file, but that didn't work.

SS 4.3 is for Vista , uninstall it , and install 4.2 , that should solve your problem. You will also need to clear the registry of SS before installing 4.2 .

Seems I have an illegal version of xp wich is strange considering I bought it retail.

If you have a genuine version of Windows, then when you fail the online validation for downloads it will re-direct to you a page where you can use the Product Key Update Tool to enter your valid retail key.
