greenmachine
Storage is getting larger and cheaper all the time. Sure, you can never have enough, but how much do we really need? This is a poll for the live recordists out there.
ozpeter
Good poll! Most polls on forums are a total bore.I see that I'm typical of the majority. But I shall say nothing else which might influence others!
greenmachine
Thanks for the participation so far. The current results indicate that we're not entirely happy with the 1 GB that Hi-MD offers, but don't really need more than 2 GB, which confirms my suspicion. Strungup
I will just add , that it depends on the gear I am recording with . Each piece of gear has a different quality to it , a Good Pro tape deck like the TC-D5mit is worth it to limit the length of time in exchange for quality of sound , IE tape being 45 min per side at MOST for 90min tapes( never use 120's ) but I have a small stockpile of Metal 54 , 60, 46, 70 minute tapes all type 4 , I need some 90's if anyone has any ( unused would be nice , they are impossible to find ( I can get type2 Cr2O2 's ) just looking for Metal type 4's
PsychoPimpKiller
I have found that the longest live show that I ever recorded was no more than 90 minutes long. I record shows of some local bands that I know and am able to place the mics in a good spot at the venue and they don't turn out too bad.I'm still learning as I go.
