Hi-MD bug list?

I doubt there is a list compiled on bugs, that kind of (highly valuable info IMO) is probably scattered all over the forum. That is a very interesting link you provided by the way, it backs up my theory that the Hi-MD format is not dependable for any sort of advanced editing operation. Most people upload to the PC and then do the editing from there so it's a non-issue for many users, but how on earth Sony could allow that bug is beyond me. That's part of the reason why I still record SP discs to this day.

Another bug I doubt they fixed is the MZ-RH1 uploading of legacy discs where if you selected Hi-SP as the destination format it would change the track marks by a few seconds. PCM uploads are at least okay though.

I've experienced something sort of like the symptoms in the post you linked to...

I have a new MZ-RH1. The audio I'm working with is voice recorded on the unit in Hi-MD PCM mode. Upon pretty extensive clip editing on the unit, I get the message 'CANNOT EDIT' at some points in the recording. I thought it could edit endlessly?

I think the error message has something to do with having edited for too long without allowing the unit to SYSTEM FILE WRITE. I think it might be like a hard drive in that the information gets scattered all over the disc? I think I read something about this in the manual.

Yeah, at one point it actually jumbled a track that was three groups away with the one I was editing. It was scary. Then I pressed 'stop' and it did the SYSTEMFILEWRITE and it seemed to be fine. However, I'm still not able to edit those tracks which had the 'CANNOT EDIT' message, although I can play them and upload them just fine.

Bug Or Not Bug ,......That isnt the question , but here is mine .

I have an RH1 , and I have the DS-HMD1 Data drive

First the Data drive IS NOT supposed to work on Mac it is supposed to work with Sonic Rage ....... umm Stage sorry .

But , If I FORMAT an MD in the RH1 , and put it in the Data drive , The Mac thinks it is the RH1 and then I can Drag and drop , MP3 , or Upload recordings that are in HiMD mode , .............. I think this is more of a Critter than a Bug , but kinda cool if ya ask me .

Also Found that my RH10 does the same thing , and now , I can leave the DATA drive just plugged in all the time , because , I can drop a Blank 80 minute disc in it and it automatically formats it to HImd

Weird , but very very cool .........
