I couldn't find a straight answer to this. But can the RH1 store data in the same manner as in Windows? That would be the deal sealer if thats the case.

Dunno, I'm not a Mac person.

But the Windows data mode is not that useful, given the capacities of other storage media now. When you put on a file using Windows, the HiMD cannot play it. Even mp3's (I don't do that either so I might be misinformed). However the big advantage the later HiMD's have is that they don't need your PC to transcode the mp3 to Atrac+ first when transferring via SonicStage. Transcoding of mp3 to Atrac doesn't seem to work very well at all.

Yes , it acts as a Mass Storage USB device when not using the MD Transfer software , just double klik the drive icon instead of the software icon , and it opens like a hard disk .
