Question

my sony nw 407 started getting a bit weird, it would say 'usb connect' when i was playing music and cut off and start at the beggining of my whole libary (all tracks) even though it wasnt connected to anything.

this problem started to get more frequent but only happened when i was on the go and moving about. when i sat down and listened to it, this problem wouldn't occur.

and now, just when i went off to buy some trainers, my sony player wont start up AT ALL.

i tried conencting it to my PC but it still wont start up and that little whole at the back where it says reset is too darn small for me to press.

anyone be able to help me??

Well, get a pencil lead or paper clip to press it then.

Or Pin ..hey do this first it might solve your problem.

Your player should be still in warrenty so you can take your player to Sony service centre..I don`t think Amazon will repair or replace it now

i bought it from Amazon.co.uk last july, will i still be able to repair it??

Yeah I think so... Should have a 1yr warranty no? Amazon.co.uk likely won't replace/repair it themselves but they are a Sony authorised dealer to my knowledge so you will be able to send it to Sony as per the warranty information you have (or can look up on the website).

I'd send it in ASAP because if it is a 1yr warranty you only have a couple months left to do it.

Please read up on the following topic started off by myself on the 16 March. Your problem sounds familiar to my one.

Problem: NW-E407 keeps switching off

At least twice a day my NW-E407 will switch itsef off and go back to the very first track on the player. Has anyone else experienced this on any of Sony's flash players?

Please read this topic as your problem sounds very similiar. It only ever happens when I am on the move and player is kept in coat pocket. Never happens when I am stationary. Probably static as pointed out very kindly by Dinko.
