Levanel
I've got a RM-MC38EL that suddenly doesn't work properly.. audio comes out from one earbud/headphone but not the other. I was wondering if there's a solution to this.. there's only one screw on the remote.
sfbp
I wish I could help. I wrecked a brand new remote trying to get it apart. Be careful! I was looking at a different one today and I noticed a nifty little groove about 1/4" long along one side, that seemed like it might be enough to insert a knife blade and lever it open. I ended up completely wrecking the volume control to get it off, sigh. It turned out ok because I can use that one on the B10 which doesn't respond to volume messages anyway. In my case the remote was completely inoperative when I got it because it had been assembled with the hold switch incorrectly off and no way to turn it on - so I "improved" it. In your case, better be 300% sure that getting in there is the only way, or I predict unhappiness.oh yes - the groove is to the right of the stop button, under the rewind pictograph. brian10161
Sounds like it might be a damaged solder joint. What you might want to try doing is spray a little WD40 in the connection to clean up the contacts. Usually thats the best way to get them to connect again, otherwise you'll need to open it up and re-solder the contacts to the board.Does the plug feel lose at all?
