PhilippeC
I suppose that a lot of you know I have talked about it in my posts several times already, but no comment ! http://www.fxsound.com/ The sound is MUCH better !
TypeR
Yeah, you mentioned it to me as well! I saw the website but haven't tried it. To me, I don't like the idea of a plugin or something processing my music, as far as Im concerned an amp or pre amp should do that sort of stuff and it should be permanent, I.E on a recording. I'm not sure how it could make compressed audio sound much better without doing some EQing and maybe losing further detail...Mind you I just got a dac magic (Cambridge Audio) and apparently that does "upsampling" which is supposed to improve quality somewhat. How it works I have no idea but it sounds fantasically detailed in terms of non compressed audio

You can easily compare with or without because there is a "power" button on the front panel.

I have since switched over to Mac and unfortunately have had to give it up. There are similar programs for the Mac (most notably, "Hear", but I have not tried them yet). You do have to be careful to not go too overboard with DFX though.

I like how it sounds but as i record nearly all of my stuff from CD to md (ie loss less source)shouldn't the CDs be mastered in the studio to what the artist wants us to hear? What DFX does is alter the sound the artist wanted us to hear? But like i said it does make the music sound more spacious and enjoyable to listen to. I was just today recording The Stooges "Raw Power" and I read on the other version of this disc called "Rough Power" that the Stooges said that "Raw Power" was not the album they want us to hear. Sadly for them, I prefer the original sound "Raw Power" ha ha ha ! I think your are right when it is classical music or a old jazz band.
