dms09
I'm considering the jump to Hi-MD and getting the RH1 as my player-for-everything. It's a lot of money still though so I need to be sure whether it's worth me buying it or just sticking with what I have. What's it like selecting an album on the RH1, assuming you have a good few on a 1GB disc? Can it be done without the remote? The display in the pictures looks to be just one line high, does that make it hard to select albums? How about using the RM-MC40ELK instead? Thanks for your help. PhilippeC
It is not possible to select albums on the RH1 without a remote. Personnaly, I am leaving Hi-MD format, all my standard MDs are now in SP mode. Because (1) there is a huge choice of non Hi-MD recorder/player (2) Hi-MD is expensive (both machine and discs) (3) my Hi-MD players have had / have now buttons and / or jog level and / or sreen display problems (4) SP sound is quite perfect for me (I have tried 352kbps and PCM) and can be listened with all players (5) I have a deck with a perfect sound (Sony MDS-B5) SP only ! Thats a similar position to me. But with the RH1 being hyped so much on this forum as some kind of wonder player, it's hard to be be intrigued. Maybe I'll just get one from Amazon, and return it if i'm not blown away.
Bwil
The RM-MC40ELK remote makes the RH1 a pretty complete machine. It will do what you're trying to do. It's a shame they didn't include title information on the unit's display, and that there isn't at least a GROUP button on the unit.
PhilippeC
note that you can buy a MD deck for this price or Iphone, Ipod, PSP...
dms09
note that you can buy a MD deck for this price or Iphone, Ipod, PSP... I think you're reading the wrong forum if you choose between MP3 and minidisc's using a price/feature comparison...
