SonicStage 4.3 Editing Titles on Walkman?

I am not 100% sure but I believe I know the answer to this. Don't use Sonic Stage to change the disposition of your tracks into groups. If you do the tracks in a group will be uneditable, I think.

So.... edit the names before grouping them. Of course you can still do after grouping, using SS. The major editing operation that one seems to want to do actually on the portable is to divide titles, which you want to do before grouping or upload, anyway.

There's another solution. Get an pre-NetMD, MDLP deck (eg JE640 or one of the pro "E" series - MDS E10/11/12) and there are no such restrictions.

@ sfbp

Thank you for your reply.

I did only change the track or title names on PC and let it change these on the Walkman without uploading and grouping anything. So only the title name on the MD was changed. Now it tells: "Can not edit" when I want to divide tracks on the Walkman.

Is it possible if only a title name is changed, the Walkman thinks this title has been transferred from SonicStage to it and therefore blocks all editing of this title?

Following your original question, I happened to do this. I titled (using PC and RH1) 2 tracks recorded at LPCM (1411khz) and then merged them by deleting the track mark. Everything worked perfectly, and the second title simply disappeared leaving a single track with the first title. I also merged a bunch of untitled tracks, but we sort of know that that works :)

Could this possibly be a function of the fact you are using an RH10, and I am using an RH1?

Added: I suppose this could all be because you are expected to divide first, then edit names. I never actually tried the other way so I can't say if it works or it doesn't. Bah humbug!

How can transferred titles be unlocked for editing?

They can not be. You could transfer them, edit them on the PC. That is your best option right now, assuming they are still transferable.
