JB940 from eBay with wrong remote

I just tried titling a disc and realised I think I got the wrong remote with the jb920 deck I got from ebay. It's a narrow RM-D10E.

What's the disadvantage? Is it just titling or am I missing something else? Is this something a PS/2 keyboard would solve?

Yes its a large remote for the 920 and 940 i think

The 980 had a narrow one.

The ps2 will do everything i think if you can find where the keys on the ps2 keyb map to.

Have you emailed the seller its possible he may find the remote?

or get a discount at least if you dont want to send it back.

Note: "PS/2" has nothing to do with Playstation 2 Personal System/2 from IBM... which gave the name to its enduring legacy before the ubiquity of USB keyboards and mice, the PS/2 connector.

There's a keyboard map somewhere in one of the manuals for decks, all posted over at minidisc.org, or some in our own download section.

I have replied to the seller to ask.

Will any wide Sony MD remote work? Or does it have to be a specific model? I ask as there's remotes on ebay that appear to be like my narrow one in all ways except model number.

The remote will work.There are buttons mising like filter and something like that.

not a big thing.. oh yea and the numbers 11-25 are missing i think.

I think you have an advantage with that remote as far as i remember it gets high prices on ebay.This remote is for the JB980 and JE480 for example ..

Try to sell it and grab the right one at a cheaper price ?
