Jimma
I am currently trying to transfer a large compilation of Christmas music to an 80 minute disc in LP4. For some reason none of the track titles get transfered beyond track 45. I have tried this using an MDS-NT1 and an MZ-RH10 with the same results. Does anyone have any idea why this might be? sfbp
There's an absolute limit of 1700 characters on legacy MD's. Sorry. Doesn't apply to HiMD, so if you want to put in LP4 format on a reformatted HiMD, you absolutely can, without limitation, and (of course) overall almost double the storage capacity. Azureal
I have had this issue before as well, there is a limitation on the number of characters that can be stored as the metadata on a standard MD as well as HiMD. For a standard MD it is surprisingly low and can easily be exceeded for a bunch of tracks in LP4. For HiMD Sony increased the limitation with a completely new mechanism in software to store the track information.
Jimma
Of course, I didn't think of that. I don't often use LP4 so I've never run into this problem before. Sadly I can't use Hi-MD mode as the disc is for my sister's kids and their Walkmans are not compatible so I'll just have to leave the tracks un-named. Thanks for clearing that up for me.
