Can I adjust PCM-M10 channel balance?

I got a brand new PCM-M10 several months ago. I just noticed that its channel balance is not set correctly. The right channel is always higher than the left one by about 3db. It happens for both internal and external mics. Is there a way to adjust the balance? Or is it a known bug?

I think it's a problem with your PCM-M10. Doesn't do that on mine. I'm surprised it happens on line input, so it's not the usual cause (microphones non-matching), presumably. I didn't see anything to adjust that, either.

Its line input is fine. But the external mic input seems to have the same issue. So I guess that there may be bad components in the mic related circuit, such as mic amps or switches...

I noticed the same, but my problem was not a faulty unit but an external source not having balanced channels and no way of correcting it when using the M10 to record. A balance control is important I feel.

I have ended up with the PCM-D100 which is similar but does have a balance control.

Can you arrange to swap the l and r channel mics? That would localise it nicely.
