e11even
How do I install the NETMD driver from Zip file as there isn't an exe file within the zip.I can unzip the file but can not work out how to install the driver from the file
sfbp
Same way as any other driver that doesn't have its own install program.Go to device manager and find the Yellow Exclamation mark for the NetMD device.U(pdate driver using the INF file from that download (you may have to unzip to somewhere first). Ignore complaints about driver not being signed etc.
bluecrab
Yes, it worked for me on WIn7/64. Once the files are unzipped, you use Dev Mgr as noted here:http://www.howtogeek.com/167094/how-to-use-the-windows-device-manager-for-troubleshooting/
e11even
I am thinking of installing free windows 10 upgrade, is this process likely to work with windows
kalkie
I had a working configuration with windows 7 (32 bits) and I upgraded to Windows 10 (32 bits) a few days ago. After this upgrade I could start SS without problems and I tried a MZ-NH600 (HIMD unit) and a MZ-N910 (Net MD), Windows recognized the units and I presume the right drivers were loaded because all is working well.In my case no special action was needed. sfbp
I'd be inclined to do it Kalkie's way - make it work with what you have first, since the problems if any are better understood.
allbluedave
I am thinking of installing free windows 10 upgrade, is this process likely to work with windows 10I have a mz-n520 net recorder and i have got sonic stage running with windows 10. You need to disable driver signature enforcement when the computer boots up then you can install the unsigned md driver other wise the pc wont reconise the md recorder and sonicstage wont see the md recorder either. Took me a while to suss it out through trial and error lol. The drivers and sonicstage are available here in the download section. Then you will roundly curse Sony for all the (unnecessarily) different NetMD drivers that got installed, instead of updating every device to use the SAME driver. That's what the 32-bit driver in the downloads section is designed to avoid. No, it doesn't pass the signature verification step but that's no big deal as others have pointed out. But it will allow full speed upload with MZ-RH1, quite important to many many people. And just for the benefit of OP, your solution of "just letting it work" doesn't apply to most people since 90+% of everyone will be installing on 64-bit Windows. They will absolutely need the 64-bit "RH1" driver.
