sfbp
I'm a bit puzzled why the N7 is apparently a lot smaller than the B7 with identical features. You bought this?
PhilippeC
That is a compressed-like ;>) bookshelf...However, the unit is deeper that the higher model. No idea of the marketing beeing back to this. No, I don't bought one. I'd rather search for the model with an optical out (FR-N9TX). http://www.jp.onkyo.com/search_result/?q=Hi-MD
sfbp
The only out is from the CD. So if you hoping for MD out, tant pis. However, hooking up any Hi-MD portable (by USB) to a PC achieves this. AFAIK there does not exist a HiMD unit with digital out.
PhilippeC
Or even a Hi-MD bookshelf with Net-MD connection, which is very sad. Always nedd a portable Hi-MD to do the work the bookshelf can't do. Without talking about the quality of the amplification section. What a pity... sfbp
The closest you get is the LAM-X1 which has PC->MD transfer for both HiMD and NetMD. Jim had one apart and said it was very cheaply constructed. I would assume that you can get USB->PC transfer for HiMD provided the tracks were not locked to a PC with encryption already. PhilippeC
There is also an Onkyo N9X & N9TX in Vietnam with a digital out = i doubt it concern the MD as as japanese user manual say that this connection is for a CD-Recorder (and because Sony would not authorised that). kaustabroy
hi there Does any one has the English manual for ONKYO N7TX -Hi-MD please send me the link to kaustabroy@gmail.com much appreciated thanks in advance Roy
PhilippeC
https://www.jp.onkyo.com/support/manual/manualpdf/n79tx.pdf Google Traductor is your friend or https://www.ilovepdf.com/ The big default for me about those Onkyo bookshelves is that, like I already said, there is NO digital out working also for the MD. Then if you want to listen to the MD using an external digital amplifier or digital receiver with S/PDIF in, you will need the analog line out of the unit concerning the MD. PhilippeC
If you used the digital out with a digital amplifier, you will get only the CD sound, not the MD sound. This digital out is at first done to be connected a CD-R recorder.
