Ferndog
Can anyone help me put with a Japanese MD? Its a nice bookshelf unit, but being that its Japanese I cannot find a service manual for it. I replaced the belts but when I took it apart 2 gears fell out that control the elevator and I knew these gears have to set in a certain spot. I see a "dot" on each of the gears but don't know where they're to be placed. I can submit pictures if someone can help. I've tried on several occasions but after I put it together the elevator jogs up and down and then I get a "Reset" indicatation. So if anyone has any knowledge on how to time a multi-MD changer that has an elevator I would truly appreciate it. Lastly, I called Sony and they couldn't help me because its a "Japanese" model... sfbp
Doubtless you need the service manual. Is it the MD or the CD you need help with? There's a manual for 555 in english but I think it may only have 1 md and 3 CD's.
PhilippeC
Hi Stephen, maybe you have more information than us about this SonyInsider "shutdown" :
PhilippeC
I enter Sony DHC MD575 サービスマニュアル in Google and I got that : http://www.minidisc.org/manuals/sony/service/sony_HCD-MD555_service_manual.pdf
sfbp
Right. The 555 is *very* similar. Just not sure how many MD's the 555 has, whereas the 575 clearly has 3 MD. Yes good to see y'all too. Chris had trouble getting upgraded from pHp 5 to 7, and real life got in the way. I know how he feels.
