Handycam HDR-SR12E software and Windows 10 ?

Since purchasing my Handycam HDR-SR12E, I’ve experienced no problem connecting it to my laptop that runs on the OS, Windows 8. Most windows editions that run on 64 bits can also be set to 32 bits, a setting that I maintained, because the Motion Picture Browser for this Sony Cam indicates that the software, and I assume, therefore, the USB connection are not supported by 64-bit editions for this particular Handycam (Operating Guide, p. 25).   sonneries tiktok

Will a laptop with the OS, Windows10 enable a usb connection with this Handycam HDR-SR12E? And, if a system operates on 64 bits, can’t such a system be able to be reset to support 32 bits?

my 7-year-old system is malfunctioning, and I must replace it with one typical of the market today..

You can definitely get 32 bit Windows 10. It's probably Microsoft's fault if you were forcibly upgraded to 64 from 32 so you should scream loudly. I know of w7 systems that got from 32- to 32- during the free upgrade. Worst case you're going to have to pay for w10 again.

Finding a 64 bit driver for your device won't be easy unless Sony has one. Sorry but i don't have time right now.

I have a HC9 with DV tape. I am now running Windows 10. I downloaded Sony Play Memories software but cannot seem to download my tapes using i.Link or USB. Please assist.
