NW-S70x album art

Question

Just bought an NW-S706 today; very impressed with sound quality (as good as my Hi-MD player imho) and even more so with the noise reduction. Only thing that really annoyed me was having to do update all the CD info via gracenote to get album covers on my imported files. Just thought I'd let those know that don't that don't already that you can just drag and drop images onto the album icon in sonicstage and update the album art that way. It's still tiring but it's faster than updating all the CD info, at least for myself it was. Hope it helps someone out there.

To be honest I don't see album art on the player being a great advantage but it's nice to put it on just because you can. Sonicstage is still a bit of a pain for me but it hasn't crashed (4.1 version) and a price i am very willing to pay for an mp3 player that has such good sound quality and battery life.

regards,

Matt

Agreed, the album art is a bit of a gimmick but it is cool to play around with. I get the pictures from CDWOW, and just do as you have said, gracenote is a real pain. Takes an age too.

I have sonic stage 4.3 but i cant put album covers to albums or playlists that have different artists. Still think its a bug

Actually, in SonicStage the album covers can be added when they have different artist for albums with different artist. The compilation must be selected. Note: Use the compilation name the artist name in SonicStage. This should help for albums with different artists. It is advised to add individual album art/covers for each individual track for compilations.

well, i have been using my new s706 for 2 weeks now and i must say that i am pretty impressed, especially of its sound quality!

before purchasing it i've read a great number of complaints regarding sonic stage, and thought i could manage it

but i must say: sony SHOULD seriously do something about it!

it is either user-friendly or "intelligent" in any way. i mean, i know its not supposed to be cleaver or anything but the software is just stupid and user-unfriendly.

my latest problem (i've had some already, but mostly figured it out by myself how to tackle the problems): all of the cd-covers/images i've saved suddenly all disappeared one fine day. why???? and, what will happen next? why make it so complicated?

does anyone know of any other softwares i could use? my patience is running out.

regards

Unfortunately, SonicStage is like most software in general. They a steep learning curve.

Could we have more information. Is the album art missing from SonicStage or your NW-S706.

Let us make a guess for your solution. Please go to view->album. There are four view options. Icon (All Categories), Icon (single category), Details (All Categories) and Details (single category). Please set it to Details (All Categories).

hi.is the NW-S70x user friendly?i mean the buttons,dials,interface and stuff like that...hm.
Hi, welcome to Atrac Life. I find it simple enough to navigate, although I wouldn't want to navigate any more than the 4gb my NW-S706F has. The only two things that annoy me about this player is the "PLAY MODE/SOUND" button on the back and the rubber seals on the supplied iem's coming off their rims. Apart from that it's great! :) Edited by ANGRYBADGER

While searching for podcast an interesting feature of SonicStage was encountered. SonicStage will place the correct album, genre, artist name, release date and other data if it is contained in the audio file. This has happened while importing audio files into SonicStage. It is not known if this works with version other than 4.3.

Navigating the NW-S700/S600 series is quite easy, but can be quite easy. There are times that require both hands to do change settings. The NW-S700/S600 is designed for operation with one hand. The UI is designed for circular navigation. You a can adjust the dial-jog to progress through individual songs or playlists/album. All the controls are placed at the top of the unit when the headphone jack is located. It will take time remembering the sequence for playback modes.

hey. i don't know where to put this so i'll just post here. i went to check out 3 NW-s70s from different shops. i have a 2 doubts/questions.the wheel(or scroller).is it supposed to go both up and down AND left and right?i'm asking because i saw the left right and up down markings on the wheel, but the left-right motion felt like the wheel was loose, due to a manafucturing defect or poor build quality..to me the correct motion should be a sure click or button, a thud, a slide, but it felt like the wheel was 1 or 2mm too wide in diameter for the body..by the way they were all made in malaysia..so to recap,

1.is the wheel supposed to scroll up and down AND left and right,

2.how does yours feel like?

3.where was yours made?

4.when did sony launch the nw-s70?

thanks so much to everyone.

cheers.
