Hi, this is a step by step of what I did, and hopefully someone will be able to help me fix the problem I have
After converting all my CD's to Atrac3Plus (64kps) with the SonicStage2.1 software provided with my NW-HD1 and recharging my NW-HD1 for the first time the required 3 hours till the charging light went off, I connected it to my Laptop (3.2Ghz, 500Mb memory) and it was detected and was ready to use.
I then opened up SonicStage with all my files ready in my library for transfer, and was given the option of automatic transfer, to which I clicked Ok and my files began transferring seemlessly
Now here's where the problem started, about half-way through the tranfer my laptop crashed, don't ask me why, think it had something to do with the power (and yes my battery is gone).
But anyway, the songs transferred to that point were all on the player and could be played, so I tried to transfer the remaining tracks but it got stuck on the first album, like it wouldn't expand to show the transfer bars for each track, but the albums below it were expanded. I tried again in reverse order and same thing happened, first album on the list wouldn't expand to show the transfer progress.
So I decided to delete all the files on the player (through SonicStage) and do a fresh install. After initializing the player through it's menu I tried again and the same thing happened, it would get stuck on the first album, and transferring just the album names to the player but without the tracks. Tried this a few times with the same results, even after formatting the player.
So I tried copying all my files to my usb drive and then to another laptop, and with that it actually doesn't get stuck on the 1st album anymore during the transfer but instead goes through the entire list like it did when it first transferred successfully, but without the tranfer progress bars, but at the end a message pops up "Cannot load the rights information for the selected tracks" and lists all my tracks.
It's so frustraing, they are all my tracks I spent what seemed like an eternity converting, and now it's like I can't even use them if it's not on the computer I converted them on.
Please can someone help me, is there anyway around this?
If I uninstall SonicStage on the original computer with my tracks and install it again (or a higher version) will it mean I will have to convert my Cds again because of the Rights Management shit?
Also if anyone is masochistic enough to want to buy my player email me and make me an offer. I just took it out of the box yesterday, it does work, the problem is obviously with the freakin Digital Rights Management through SonicStage. My ROQ-IT mp3 player looks like a 10 out of !0 compared to this crap. Last time I buy a Sony that's for sure
