Question

Some people would consider that the volume of the A800 is enough, but I have found that with 80% of my songs between volume 20 and 30 there are no increase at all, also the volume seems high while in bed in a quite room but when you are jogging in the street the volume is low(tested with the original earphones),so how to enter the test mode and unlock the volume control like we could do it with the A1000?

To be honest I don't think the supplied phones are too good, an upgrade would probably do the trick. Some people say the Sennheiser CX300's are better than the supplied phones.

As for the volume hack, there probably isn't one. There has never been a volume hack for a flash based player, only the hdd ones like A3000, HD5 etc.

The supplied earphones don't isolate, so what you're experiencing is probably trying to turn up the phones to overpower the background noise. I find that my UK-spec A80x is more than loud enough with efficient earphones, and as such I think you may be pushing the player to an unhealthy level of noise.

The best thing you could do is to get yourself a somewhat isolated set of earphones... or accept that you'll have background music while jogging, not in the foreground.

The best suggestion is to get Noise Cancellation headphones. I really do not have problems with my headphones when doing my daily activities, when a passing train does destroy my enjoyment. I usually keep the volume at 12 to 16, since I find in peaceful places that the volume is perfect. However, I am using the MDR-EX85L model headphones.

For jogging, I would agree with navsimpson, make sure that the Dynamic Normaliser is off.
