wonsak
hello m8's. i'm new here. i recentlybougt my mp3 and of course i'm shocked how complicated it is to llisten music on it.still the sound quality is superior. nevermind. i wanted to ask why when i transfer music to sonic stage it groups them in some strange way - for exaplme i drop there prodigy's album experience - ripped by me 10 years ago - and sonic stage puts this to library as 3 separate albums with 1 - 3 and rest of the tracks, sometimes it splits album to 3 diffrent folders and i have to search them like crazy and of course i can't play them like they were on the album, please help me to understand it. fanx
Borat
Do you mean the actual folders created on your hard drive? This happens when you import tracks from an album at different times. You can get round this by highlighting all the tracks in the album (in Sonicstage) and using the move track function on the right -click menu to the original named folder (or one of your own choice). You can then delete the ...(1), ...(2) etc folders...
juli_
Wonsak, SS has a mind of its own!hello m8's. i'm new here. i recentlybougt my mp3 and of course i'm shocked how complicated it is to llisten music on it.still the sound quality is superior. nevermind. i wanted to ask why when i transfer music to sonic stage it groups them in some strange way - for exaplme i drop there prodigy's album experience - ripped by me 10 years ago - and sonic stage puts this to library as 3 separate albums with 1 - 3 and rest of the tracks, sometimes it splits album to 3 diffrent folders and i have to search them like crazy and of course i can't play them like they were on the album, please help me to understand it. fanxIs the Prodigy album a compilation you made, or a complete album? If it's a compilation, you need to check each track under 'properties' while it's still in the SS library and look for any tiny differences, ie., Prodigy - Prodidgy, anything spelt slightly differently will immediately 'split' the album. There's tons of stuff on here about SS and why it does what it does, so just keep asking, you're bound to find the answers somewhere. wonsak
ok i realize the problem is tags in mp3's. for example one track is rock and other is techno and sonic stage puts them in 2 diffrent folders. first of all it makes everything hard -1 is there a way to put them all together? is there no other way than makin' sure that all songs have the same tag - album genre and everything else? i see there no move function as well i just wanna drag & drop to sonic stage and transfer nothing else

Richard
sry for clickng add reply 2 timesJust right click and go into the properties of the first group of Saafi Brothers tracks and change the album title to match the other one and the same album title will be applied to all 5 tracks at the same time and "moved" into the correct album. To move the source files see the earlier post from Borat.
juli_
You might also need to tick the compilation box (under properties) to push the songs together under the same album. Your screenshot looked like your albums didn't have matching names - crucial if you want to get them in the same folder. As said before, make sure the titles match exactly. SS is really fussy Edited June 20, 2007 by juli
vikond
Looking on the firs picture: first folder: artist: saafi brothers album name: blank2nd folder: artist: saafi brothers album name: Midnights childrenfirst folder: artist: saafi brothers album name: Not fade awaySo, all three folders have 3 different album names. If you will asign same album name for them they will be grouped as one album. For the second question:You need to be inside album (then track names are displayed). Then select songs you want to move to the different folder, right click and then one selections will be "move file".Hope that will help...PS: Hate then people complain about SS... They just don't now how to use it.
wonsak
fanx for adviced, that really helped me to get along with sonic stage but it takes time to solve it right just because some id tags are little diffrent. vikond u should not be suprised when people complain - its not normal that transfering tracks takes so much time and grouping them into one more library is just wasting time and a bad suprise for those who bought their mp3 are after some time realized that they can't do it as simple as normal mp3 and there was no info at the box or anywhere else that so yis using such a thing, imagine someone oder or a nOOb comp girls who bought it - for example my girl sometimes takes my mp3 but explaining to her sonic stage was really tough. LuLu
ok i realize the problem is tags in mp3's.Speaking of which can anyone recommend a good MP3 tag editor (preferrably freeware)? I tried to search this board for previous posts on this topic but got an error message that my search term (MP3) was too short!LOG
Borat
ID3 TagIt is a good, freeware tagging program. Handles various formats and can tag groups of files together...
Traveller
MP3Tag is just as good, and tends to be the tag editor of choice at the Anything But Ipod forums.
