im getting a new one and wondered what people would recommend?

I bought the Western Digital My Book 250GB Essential USB 2.0 External Hard Drive from Amazon for under £60 a few months ago and it's been really reliable. I haven't even begun to fill up 250GB so it should outlast me I think! The price is amazing considering the storage space.

sorry about the vagueness i meant hdd mp3 player i have a nw-a3000 but am getting annoyed by the sony software and the battery length and wondered if there was better and bigger ones out there?

You download the most recent version of SonicStage, or look in the software Discussion for SonicStage alternatives and instructions on how to use them.

It may be possible to find an NW-A3000 series replacement battery on eBay.

The highest capacity for the NW-A800 series, a flashed based player, is 8 gig.

If you are willing to wait until October/November Sony may release a new player.

However, there are other brands that have HDD that could meet your needs.

If you are interested in a flash player the first 16G model is available from Creative. You may have to wait since it is only available in Singapore now.

... and out of stock too. A paper launch.
