Question

hey guys, i am interested in getting an 80* as the atrac support for me is a deal breaker so i ned to get one now, rather than later as the new units will not support it!

question is where still does the speaker offer? i know some stores did them with the nice network speaker system, which i would really like. is this available any where still?

The sound from this cpf-nw001 is unbelievable. From such a small system, the sound is on par with hi-fi systems.

I dont know if it is available in other parts of the world, this is available in japan. you can have a look here,

this page is in japanese, but by seeing the photo, you can find if similar stuff is available elsewhere. The inset in the photo is part of speaker

It's great isn't it? I have mine set up in the kitchen/diner and the sound really does 'spread' through the whole room. It seems impossible but it does, and the quality is amazing for something so small. Are you using yours with the 808 or 706 or both? I have the same speaker system but with the wi-fi bit (which I don't use) and I can use the remote control to flip albums on the 706, but not on the 808!

If you can flip albums on your 706 but not on the A808. Just hope the next firmware update can correct this on the A808 and just this! Because I still love the ATRAC codec and the on-the-fly bookmarking, which the later series doesn't have.

Offers expires on 30th Sept 07 and is subjected to availability. So if you're instrested in getting an A80x you better call around UK Sony Centre's for stocks.

Oh, I didn't even think about a firmware upgrade. I just assumed that if the 706 'flips', so should the 808!

I also love the on-the-fly bookmarking facility (and gapless playback). It's much easier to add as you listen, rather than trying to calculate in advance the type of playlist you want to hear.

It's good to see they are 'giving' away this speaker system with the NW-A80* Walkman. I would imagine they will turn up on ebay at a good price soon. At the moment my local Sony Center is looking for €299 for this device...........It might be good but it's not worth that!!!!!!!!!
