Question

So i am thinking of getting the NWZ S618 soon as it has the fm radio and small, but i want to get the dock for it so it has the AC Adapter and connect it to my stero.

I dont know where to get the BCR-NWU3 from the if i buy it off ebay will it work in Australia, also how come the Sony US site has a diffrent picture then the UK one.

Does anyone have the WLANWB1 as i want to get that and then use bluetooth earphones is it good for that and do the FF \ RW V-+ work if you use it with bluetooth earphones

Can someone suggest a good bluetoth remote with 3.5mm jack i was going to go with the Motorola S705 SoundPilot but it has to many flaws,

wanted it for the track name but its not even bluetooth 2.0

Would really appricate your replies.

Yes, the BCR-NWU3 will work in Australia. Strange as it may seem you may require to purchase an adapter/converter to allow it to work in your country. This is only needed it you plan on using the AC adapter.

Hi LG1. I bought my BCR-NWU3 via amazon in the UK, except I had it delivered to a friend who lives in the UK as they wouldn't post it to Australia. I've not seen the device in australia anywhere. I've been using a UK socket adapter so I can plug it into the wall here. It works well.

The WLANWB1 can be purchased at any of the Sony centre's here in Australia. I saw one in the Melbourne store last week. They cost $129.

My question about the bluetooth was a diffrent one should have specified, does it work with AVRCP i want to use a bluetooth remote and want to know if that would work.

I have a few BlueTooth devices - all Sony products except for my laptop. If you buy Sony the BlueTooth will work. I can use the bluetooth headphones (DRBT50) with my A806 using the WLANWB1 as well as my bookshelf unit (CMT-U1BT). But I had buy the adapter (HWSBTA2W) to get the latter to pair. I had some difficulty getting any of these devices to work with my laptop (Dell). I think I got the headphones to work but I'm not sure. It was very frustrating. Make sure you read the instructions on any non-Sony product before you buy it if you want it to work with Sony. Sony does warn you about compatibility issues in the manuals.

Ok, i looked at all the manuals and it looks like it should work.

One more question do people think its worth it as it will cost $600 for an 8GB player

- NWZ-S618

- BCR-NWU3

- WLA-NWB1

- Nokia BH-500

Thanks

I think the answer to the question about cost is up to you and how much value you are going to get out of it.BTW, what is the Nokia BH-500 for?

I like those headphones (DRBT50), they are a nice fit for my ears, the sound quality is appealing to me and I can use them with my A-806 and my bookshelf unit (CMT-U1BT). The headphones come with a nice carry case, are rechargeable (but have a good battery life), come with the recharger but are not made for outside use though (this may impact your purchase decision).

In another post someone on this board I mention how delicate the WLA-NWB1 is. I only had a week or so before I lost the button on the back.

Also pairing can be kind of tedious. If it works, it happens pretty much instantly. If it doesn't then you know you're going to have difficulty. Also it doesn't seem to always "stick" so sometimes you have to re-pair.

Now that the bluetooth stuff is being released in the US I'm looking forward to others getting this gear and discussing it here.

I want to use my own earphones the bh500 allows me to make my own earphones bluetooth and i can pair my phone and the sony to it. I am going to be buying the bluetooth locally so i will have a waranty for that so i hope it works.

Still not making a decision for two weeks.

What i basicly want is be able to control the player from in my pocket as it doesnt come with a remote that is what the bh500 will be for.

I currently have a HD5 and am contemplating moving to the s618, do you think the move is worth it
